Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, extra passive skill points, and weapon skill points. One such encounter is the Sisters of Garukhan, providing a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff. This guide explains how to locate and utilize this beneficial encounter.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: once in Act 2 and again in Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its understated icon on the world map makes it easy to miss.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the Sisters' precise location within the Spires of Deshar is unpredictable. However, diligent exploration will reveal a shrine resembling the image above. Activating the shrine triggers a fight against metallic automatons. A nearby checkpoint allows for fast travel back to the shrine after reaching the map's exit.

Activating the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance buff is applied instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's automatically granted upon contact.

Remember to activate the shrine in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel to receive the full +20% Lightning Resistance bonus.

Why My Lightning Resistance Isn't Showing Correctly

Many players are confused to see negative elemental resistances even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance remains unaffected).

Therefore, activating the Sisters in Act 2 neutralizes the Act 1 debuff, resulting in a net zero Lightning Resistance. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff partially offsets the cumulative debuff, improving your Lightning Resistance. To verify the buff's effect, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame; a -40% elemental resistance indicates that all campaign buffs are active.
