The Realmgate is a pivotal endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes, accessing the Realmgate doesn't involve Waystones. This guide explains the Realmgate's location, usage, and what to anticipate. Proper preparation is crucial to maximize its potential.

How to Locate the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is situated adjacent to your mapping phase's starting point. The fastest way to return is by clicking the floating home icon on the map screen (illustrated above). This recenters the screen on the mapping phase's origin. The Realmgate is located next to the stone Ziggurat.

The home icon might sometimes overlap with the red skull icon (indicating the Burning Monolith). These locations are usually close. Clicking one reveals the other.

Utilizing the Realmgate in PoE 2

Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its purpose is to access endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Currently, four Pinnacle boss fights utilize the Realmgate:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300 Breach Splinters to create a Breachstone. Activate the Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79 or higher Logbook (obtained from Expeditions) by interacting with Dannig in your Hideout. Dannig appears randomly during Expedition maps, alongside other Expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen), after which he permanently resides in your Hideout.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300 Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. This initiates a 15-wave Delirium map, ideal for optimized mapping builds.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item from the Ritual Favour system using Tribute. Use it at the Realmgate to initiate this encounter.

The Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, are endgame bosses concluding the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas (4th Ascendancy version), respectively. They are not accessed via the Realmgate.

The Arbiter of Ash, the ultimate endgame Pinnacle boss, is located within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Three Citadel keys, obtained through a quest triggered upon your first Burning Monolith encounter, are required to access this fight.
