Dead by Daylight's The Nightmare Receives a Major Rework
Freddy Krueger, or The Nightmare, is getting a significant overhaul in an upcoming Dead by Daylight patch. Currently considered one of the weaker Killers, this rework aims to boost his competitiveness and better reflect his iconic abilities. The changes focus on increased flexibility and unique interactions, enhancing his gameplay significantly.
Key changes include the ability to seamlessly switch between Dream Snares and Dream Pallets, offering dynamic strategic options. Dream Snares are receiving a speed boost (12 m/s), the ability to traverse walls and stairs, and unique effects based on whether a Survivor is asleep or awake. Asleep Survivors will be hindered, while awake Survivors will have their sleep timer increased.
Dream Pallets will now explode upon activation, inflicting damage and further manipulating Survivor sleep timers. The impact differs depending on the Survivor's sleep state; hitting a sleeping Survivor inflicts injury, while hitting an awake Survivor adds to their sleep timer.
Enhanced Teleportation and Dream World Domination:
The Nightmare's teleportation abilities are also getting a boost. He can now teleport to any generator (completed, blocked, or endgame) within the Dream World. Furthermore, he can now teleport to within 12 meters of any Survivor actively healing, leveraging Killer Instinct to reveal their location. This encourages Survivors to strategically utilize alarm clocks, as healing in the Dream World exposes them to The Nightmare.
Add-On Adjustments and Perk Retention:
Several of The Nightmare's Add-Ons are being adjusted to promote creative loadout strategies. However, his perks (Fire Up, Remember Me, and Blood Warden) remain unchanged, potentially to preserve the original character design.
Complete Rework Notes:

- [NEW] Dream Snares move at 12 m/s (5-second cooldown), traversing walls and stairs (but not ledges). Unique effects based on Survivor sleep state.
