Mastering the Music Box in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Location, Usage, and Hunt Triggers
Phasmophobia challenges players to identify ghost types and escape alive. The game's frequent updates introduce new elements, including the intriguing Music Box. This guide details how to acquire and effectively utilize this valuable tool.
Locating the Music Box
Like other cursed items in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is random; luck plays a significant role. Only one Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to activate its unique properties.
Utilizing the Music Box
Several strategies leverage the Music Box's capabilities. Upon activation, the Box plays a tune. A ghost within 20 meters will "sing along," revealing its proximity. Within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. You can strategically place the activated Box on the ground to lure the ghost. The music stops automatically upon completion. Note that holding the active Music Box decreases your sanity.
Triggering Hunts with the Music Box
The Music Box can initiate either a cursed or standard hunt, depending on specific circumstances:
- Cursed Hunt Triggers:
- Throwing the active Music Box.
- Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Music Box.
- The ghost approaching the Music Box for over 5 seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Music Box.
Strategic Gameplay
For optimal use, consider carrying additional tools like Smudge Sticks before activating the Music Box. This safeguards against hunts, allowing you to identify the ghost type or complete other objectives.
