While Marvel Rivals is a relatively new mobile game, player anticipation for significant content additions is already high. Recent speculation centered on a potential PvE boss fight and the possibility of a full PvE mode. However, NetEase has confirmed that a dedicated PvE mode isn't currently in development.

In a conversation at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu stated that while there are no immediate PvE plans, the development team actively explores new gameplay modes. The team's focus is on creating an engaging and fun experience, and a PvE mode would only be added if it met those criteria.

Further discussion with Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo revealed that NetEase acknowledges player interest in a PvE mode. However, Wu emphasized that a robust PvE experience would significantly differ from the current game's core mechanics. The team is experimenting with various approaches, potentially exploring a less demanding, "lighter" PvE mode, such as a limited-time event.

Currently, concrete PvE plans remain unannounced. NetEase is remaining tight-lipped on specifics.

Marvel Rivals continues to receive updates approximately every six weeks, introducing new characters. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated for release on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 support and addressed rumors of intentionally misleading dataminers with fabricated hero data. These topics are covered in a separate article.
