Marvel Rivalry Addresses Persistent Performance Issue

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes

Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (particularly 30 FPS) can expect a resolution soon. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations for specific heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, when the game runs at lower frame rates. This issue, affecting attacks such as Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw, is more apparent against stationary targets.

The problem stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common technique to mitigate lag. However, in this instance, it's inadvertently causing discrepancies in damage dealt at lower FPS.

While a precise fix date isn't confirmed, the development team is actively working on a solution. A community manager has indicated that the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th will likely address the issue, either fully resolving it or significantly mitigating its effects. Any remaining problems will be tackled in subsequent updates.

Despite this ongoing issue, Marvel Rivals, released in early December 2025, has enjoyed considerable success. Boasting over 132,000 Steam reviews with an 80% approval rating, it's a popular addition to the hero shooter genre, even amidst initial concerns about hero balance. The anticipated Season 1 update promises to further enhance the gameplay experience for all players.
