GTA Game Exits Netflix Streaming Platform

Big changes are coming for Netflix Games subscribers who enjoy Grand Theft Auto on Android. Next month, Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be removed from the Netflix Games catalog.

Why are these GTA games leaving, and when?

This isn't a surprise move; Netflix licenses games similarly to films and TV shows. The licenses for these two GTA titles expire next month. You'll see a "Leaving Soon" tag on the games before their departure.

GTA III and Vice City were added to Netflix Games exactly one year ago, reflecting a 12-month licensing agreement with Rockstar Games. After December 13th, these games will no longer be accessible to Netflix subscribers. If you're currently playing them, it's time to finish up! Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, however, remains available.

What's next for these titles?

If you haven't completed these games, you can purchase them individually or as a trilogy on the Google Play Store. The Definitive Editions of GTA III and Vice City are available for $4.99 each, or the entire trilogy for $11.99.

Unlike the sudden removal of titles like Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest last year, Netflix is providing advance notice of the GTA games' departure. This is noteworthy considering Netflix's subscriber growth in 2023 was partly attributed to the GTA trilogy.

Rumors suggest Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on future projects, potentially including remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Let's hope this rumor proves accurate!
