The creators of the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the popular Dark and Darker, have announced the cessation of support for the game and the impending closure of its servers. Despite a promising start, the project, which lasted less than a year, struggled to maintain its player base due to low activity and a lack of significant updates.
While Dungeonborne's Steam page remains accessible, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. The official reasons for the shutdown have not been explicitly stated, but it's evident that the game's extremely low player count was a critical factor. Since late 2024, the game has seen no more than 200 concurrent players, with recent activity plummeting to just 10-15 players.
Dungeonborne's servers are scheduled for permanent shutdown on May 28, marking the end of this short-lived project. The game, which initially captured the interest of fans within its genre, will now fade into obscurity without having realized its full potential.
