Patrick Mills, the person responsible for the Cyberpunk 2077 lore, was the one who made the final call. Amidst the buzz surrounding the crossover, Mills took the opportunity to clarify his decision. There were two key reasons behind his choice: firstly, the bundle format was designed to include only two characters, with one of them being Johnny Silverhand. This left no room for two versions of V. Given that Johnny is male, selecting the female version of V seemed like a logical choice. Additionally, Mills personally favored the female version slightly more.
