Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change
Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode spawn delay. Following negative feedback, the January 9th update reverted the change that increased the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds in Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map. This reversal restores the spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds or less after five loops.
The update also includes several bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts, addressing issues with quest progression, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud. Furthermore, the powerful Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received significant buffs, increasing activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment), and reducing its cooldown timer by 25%.
Beyond Zombies, the update features various improvements:
- Global: Fixes for Maya's "Joyride" Operator Skin visibility, Events tab visuals, and in-game audio issues.
- Multiplayer: Increased XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light mode, and general stability improvements.
- Zombies LTM (Dead Light, Green Light): Added Liberty Falls to the map rotation and increased the round cap to 20.
Treyarch acknowledged that some fixes, such as the spawn delay, were not initially well-received and committed to prioritizing player enjoyment. Additional bug fixes, including the resolution of the Vermin double-attack bug, are planned for the Season 2 update on January 28th. Players are encouraged to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.
Key Changes Summarized:
- Zombies Directed Mode: Reverted spawn delay change.
- Citadelle des Morts: Numerous bug fixes and improvements.
- Shadow Rift Ammo Mod: Significant buffs to activation rates and cooldown.
- General: Various bug fixes across Global, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes.
