Master reading by sounding out letter sounds rather than their names.
Learn to read effectively.
In a child's learning journey, the adult plays a crucial role by guiding them through specific exercises. These activities help children observe mouth movements and learn proper sound articulation.
We carefully choose a subset of alphabet letters - focusing on simpler ones - to create familiar animal names and everyday words. This approach emphasizes pronouncing letter SOUNDS instead of their names.
Initially, adults should practice with the child, remembering that reading develops gradually. Eventually, they can let the child use the app independently while occasionally joining practice sessions. Later, adults can explore the "Discover the Word" section for structured exercises:
1- Have the child pronounce sounds for each letter in TREE.
2- After practice, ask: "What word did you say?"
3- Resist revealing the word to the child.
Repeat this process while encouraging faster pronunciation of TREE's letters, gradually reducing pauses between sounds. Continue without giving away the word. Eventually, when asked "What did you say?", the child will proudly exclaim "TREE!" - marking their first successful reading experience.
Soon, you'll notice growing enthusiasm as the child wants to read every encountered word. Now's the time to introduce more complex letter patterns, like the letter C with its soft (sky) and hard (house) sounds. Gradually incorporate remaining alphabet letters, always respecting each child's unique learning pace.
