Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another exciting title today that reimagines the musou genre. Introducing Warriors: Abyss, a captivating roguelite that brings together iconic characters from the Warriors series for an epic adventure.
Unveiled during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to form a formidable squad and battle through hordes of enemies. The game features an isometric camera perspective, drawing inspiration from popular titles like Diablo and the Greek mythology-themed roguelite, Hades.
In Warriors: Abyss, players embark on a thrilling journey through the depths of "hell", facing off against demonic foes. The trailer showcased a variety of beloved characters from the Warriors universe, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team over time, enhancing their summoning capabilities. You can deploy up to seven active heroes in combat, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch.Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the game with new characters, beginning with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer has hinted at future waves of characters, even suggesting the possibility of including figures from outside the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be released on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. Players interested in the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should grab it before the deadline on March 14, 2025.
