Expand Your Stardew Valley Farm with Multiple Pets!

One of the joys of Stardew Valley farming is the companionship of animals. This guide explains how to acquire multiple pets beyond your initial furry or feathered friend.

Unlocking Multiple Pets:

Initially, you can adopt one pet. However, the 1.6 update allows for multiple companions. To unlock this, you must maximize your friendship level with your existing pet. This involves daily care: fill their water bowl (except on rainy/snowy days) and pet them (indicated by a heart). Monitor their friendship meter in the "Animals" tab of the pause menu. Once maxed, Marnie will contact you about adopting additional pets. If you skipped the initial pet adoption, she'll reach out at the start of Year 2.

Adopting Additional Pets:

After receiving Marnie's message, visit her ranch (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Choose the "Adopt Pets" option. You'll find 12 pet licenses: five cat variations, five dog variations, and two turtle types. Each license has a cost:

Essential Pet Supplies:

Before or after adopting, commission Pet Bowls from Robin. These cost 5,000g and 25 Hardwood each. They are crucial for maintaining pet friendship and preventing them from running away.
