Latest Pokémon TCG Market Trends Reveal Major Price Fluctuations

IGN Photo Composite / The Pokémon Company

Another week, another volatile shift in the Pokémon single card market as collectors await the Destined Rivals release. At least Black Bolt and White Flare Pokémon Center preorders escaped bot attacks this time.

Market Trends Analysis

The most dramatic drop this week belongs to Greninja ex 214/167, losing nearly half its value since January. Meanwhile, Obsidian Flames and Scarlet & Violet 151 cards continue their downward trend.

Interestingly, Evolving Skies' Dragonite V bucks this trend, nearly doubling in value since January - a correction for this long-undervalued artwork. Charizard V Alt Art continues its steady climb, while Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art has gained an impressive $100 this year alone.

Top Pokémon Card Decliners

Greninja ex SIR

151's Alakazam ex SIR (Special Illustration Rare) has dropped 34% since March, making it the perfect time to add Uri Geller's grandfather to your collection at $37.62.

Bulbasaur IR

For nostalgic collectors, this Bulbasaur IR has halved in price since mid-March - a bargain at $27 for anyone who started their Pokémon journey with this classic starter.

Ninetales IR

The stunning Ninetales IR from Obsidian Flames now costs just $18.17 - a 40% discount from its February price.

Charizard ex SIR

While its $5 price drop seems modest, this stained glass Tera Charizard ex remains a centerpiece-worthy card at $59.99.

Top Pokémon Card Gainers

Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art

The crown jewel of Sword & Shield era, Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art now commands $649.99 and shows no signs of slowing its meteoric rise toward potential four-figure territory.

Charizard V Alt Art

This dynamic Charizard V Alt Art depicting a battle with Venusaur has gained $40 since January and could break $200 by year's end.

Dragonite V Alt Art

Evolving Skies' charming Dragonite V Alt Art has nearly doubled since January to $225, proving even friendly dragon Pokémon can show serious market teeth.
