Squid Game: Unleashed set to receive new characters and events to celebrate season two of the show

Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two with a massive content drop! New characters, a new map, and exciting challenges await. Plus, exclusive rewards are up for grabs by watching the new episodes!

Netflix's surprising move to offer the battle royale game free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, continues with this Season Two tie-in. They're cleverly incentivizing non-users to sign up by offering enticing rewards for watching the show.

But what's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season Two mini-game "Mingle" arrives. Three new playable characters will also debut throughout January: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and Thanos (the rapper!).

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game unlock events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. And for those watching the show, additional in-game Cash and Wild Tokens are earned for viewing episodes – watch seven episodes to unlock the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!

Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:

• January 3rd: New "Mingle" map launches. Geum-Ja's "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins (until January 9th), challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
• January 9th: Thanos joins the game, alongside his "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge" (until January 14th). Players must eliminate opponents using knives to unlock him.
• January 16th: Yong-Sik, the final new character in this wave, arrives.
