Pokemon TCG Pocket Announces Exciting Future Expansions

The Pokémon Company has officially confirmed that Pokémon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses will continue to be integral to future expansions, dispelling recent rumors that suggested otherwise. Released in October 2024, Pokémon TCG Pocket has largely taken over from the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game, captivating fans with its engaging gameplay and new content. The addition of the Mythical Island booster pack introduced 68 new cards to the game, following the initial Genetic Apex packs which comprised 226 cards across three packs. As excitement builds for another rumored expansion slated for January, fans can rest assured that Pack Hourglasses will retain their utility.

According to a statement reported by Screen Rant, Pack Hourglasses will continue to reduce the delay between booster pack openings by one hour, applicable across all expansions. This clarification comes amidst speculation about the introduction of a new currency for future expansions, which The Pokémon Company has firmly denied for the anticipated 2025 release. As a result, players are encouraged to keep stockpiling these hourglasses for use with upcoming packs.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Are Here to Stay

In the absence of Pack Hourglasses, players can earn Pack Stamina by waiting out 12-hour intervals, allowing them to open two Pokémon TCG Pocket booster packs daily. Pack Hourglasses, which can be earned through daily challenges and by opening the Complimentary Item Set in the shop, speed up this process by one hour per hourglass. A total of 12 hourglasses are needed to fully negate the 12-hour wait, rounded up to the nearest hour. Alongside Pack Hourglasses, the game features a variety of other currencies such as Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poké Gold, Pack Points, and more.
