Pokécology: An Official Encyclopedia For Pokémon Behaviors and Ecology

Launches in Japan in June 2025

The Pokémon Company, in partnership with the esteemed Japanese comic publisher Shogakukan, is set to unveil a comprehensive guide to the behaviors and ecology of Pokémon. Shogakukan made the exciting announcement on their website on April 21, revealing that Pokécology will hit the shelves in Japan on June 18, 2025.

Pre-orders are currently open at bookstores across Japan, with the encyclopedia priced at 1,430 yen (including tax). While there’s no word yet on a global release, given the worldwide popularity of Pokémon, fans can look forward to an English version being available in the near future.

Pokémon Ecology Encyclopedia

This official Pokémon encyclopedia will delve deep into the ecology of these beloved creatures, offering a detailed examination and analysis from various angles. Pokécology will explore topics such as the diet, sleep patterns, physical characteristics, and social interactions of Pokémon with their environment and each other.

The book is a collaborative effort by distinguished veterinary behaviorists and ecology experts from the University of Tokyo.
