Supercell's Unexpected Twist: Clash Heroes Reborn as Project R.I.S.E.
The Finnish gaming giant, Supercell, has delivered a surprising update. Following the announcement of Clash Heroes' closure, they've revealed plans for its revival, albeit in a significantly different form. Enter Project R.I.S.E., a new social action RPG roguelite.
The truth is out: Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Mirroring the fate of Clash Mini, it's been shelved. However, Supercell isn't abandoning the concept entirely. Project R.I.S.E. represents a reimagining, a fresh start within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video, featuring game lead Julien Le Cadre, directly addressed the situation: "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the bad news," he stated. "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and even better news—it's now a multiplayer-focused action RPG."
For a detailed overview, watch the official announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares DNA with Clash Heroes but is a completely distinct creation. It's a social action RPG roguelite built from the ground up. Players will team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower, a mysterious location. Each playthrough tackles a different floor, with the objective of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike its predecessor's PvE focus, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay with a diverse roster of characters.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
