Noir indie shooter MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be without microtransactions

Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil new details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, a first-person shooter boasting a striking 1930s cartoon aesthetic. The game casts players as private investigator Jack Pepper, embroiled in a thrilling noir adventure brimming with jazz, action, and intriguing mysteries.

A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment is noteworthy, especially within the indie single-player shooter landscape.

The game's visual style is heavily inspired by the rubber hose animation of the 1930s, transporting players to a nostalgic era. Players will navigate a city teeming with mobsters, gangs, and shadowy figures, utilizing an arsenal of quirky weapons, power-ups, and explosives to thwart corrupt politicians and restore order to the chaotic metropolis. Expect a humorous twist on classic FPS mechanics, featuring whimsical weaponry, a distinctive health system, and cartoonish enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for launch in 2025.
