Nintendo Switch 2: 120fps, 4K Docked Gaming

The long-awaited details about the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally surfaced, and they surpass many initial expectations. This upgraded console is capable of supporting up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked, offering a significant leap in performance that's sure to excite gamers.

PlayDuring the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the company unveiled various aspects of the new system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, yet maintains the same thickness of 13.9mm. With double the pixel count, the handheld mode supports a 1080p resolution at up to 120fps, and it features an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, the console can deliver up to 4K resolution with HDR as well.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers are now connected via magnets and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing comfort for horizontal gameplay, and the analog sticks have also been upsized. Additionally, this segment officially introduced mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also comes with a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing heights. A top USB port offers the flexibility to connect external cameras or charge the system in tabletop mode.

Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 features 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
