Developer_Direct showcased more than just DOOM: The Dark Ages. A major announcement was the unveiling of Ninja Gaiden 4, the highly anticipated next installment in Koei Tecmo's acclaimed series, slated for an autumn 2025 release.
The debut trailer highlighted the return of Ryu Hayabusa in a fast-paced, action-packed slasher adventure. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative gameplay mechanics, including agile traversal using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay footage.
The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk metropolis perpetually drenched in toxic rain. Players will confront waves of genetically-modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to break an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.
The presentation also highlighted the extensive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2, already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and included in the Game Pass library. Team Ninja's UE5 port boasts completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments, incorporating elements from later games in the series and adding three new playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's efforts on this remaster are truly commendable and deserve the enthusiastic reception from fans.
