Metaphor Manga's Debut Chapter Now Live

The highly anticipated manga adaptation of Atlus' Metaphor: ReFantazio has arrived! The first chapter is now available to read for free on MANGA Plus.

Atlus, in collaboration with Shueisha, presents this official manga adaptation illustrated by Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony). While faithful to the spirit of the game, the manga takes creative liberties, altering the initial storyline. The first chapter features new events and a restructured narrative, including the omission of an early game area and a revised introduction of the protagonist's allies. Significantly, the manga officially confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the game's default option.

The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously with the Japanese version.

A Critical and Commercial Triumph

Developed by Studio Zero, led by Katsura Hashino (the mind behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio introduces a new IP from Atlus. The game follows Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a quest to save the prince of Euchronia. Following the king's assassination, the kingdom is thrown into turmoil, leading to a unique succession plan.

The game's phenomenal success is undeniable. It sold over one million copies globally on its launch day, becoming Atlus' fastest-selling title, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload. Critical acclaim followed, earning numerous awards including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.
