When it comes to iconic female fighting game characters, three names immediately come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans have seen Nina and Chun-Li clash in Street Fighter x Tekken, their interactions won't be featured in upcoming titles. However, the same cannot be said for Mai Shiranui, who is set to join Street Fighter 6 as a guest character. It's no coincidence that the developers chose to showcase Mai battling the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer.
Mai Shiranui's trailer highlights her signature moves, and her super move is nothing short of spectacular. It's clear that she will be a highly sought-after character in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on her, as Capcom has scheduled her release for February 5, rather than January.
This means a three-week wait for eager players. In the meantime, we hope the Street Fighter 6 team will keep us engaged with more content to tide us over until Mai's arrival.
