What Are Legendary Sumi-E in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, legendary Sumi-E are unique ancient paintings of animals that Naoe or Yasuke can create in the wild. A painting icon will appear on your compass and map when you're near one of these subjects. To capture the moment, crouch and sneak up on your target. Once close enough, hold L2/LT to complete the painting. However, locating the legendary Sumi-E is tougher, as they don't appear on the map. Legendary Tanuki – Summer, Daytime

To find the Legendary Tanuki Sumi-E, head to the Omi region during the summer and daytime. Navigate to the Shimmering Fields, specifically the Shigaraki Hamlet. Once there, you'll notice Tanuki statues scattered around. Follow the path upwards to a clearing where the legendary Tanuki will be visible. Approach carefully and complete your painting.

Legendary Grey Heron – Winter, Daytime

The Grey Heron awaits in Wakasa, at Lake Suigetsu, during the winter and daytime. Head to the cluster of islands west of the lake. Approach on foot to avoid startling the heron, and locate the Sumi-E spot. Sneak up on the heron to complete your painting.

Legendary Macaque – All Seasons, Nighttime

For the Legendary Macaque, travel to the Yamashiro region and find the Little Leaf Glade sub-region. Locate the Sarumaru Shrine near the mountains. At night, ascend the stairs to find the three wise monkeys, ready for your artistic capture.

Legendary Silver Fox – Autumn, Nighttime

The Legendary Silver Fox can be found at night during autumn in the Kii region, specifically in the Nakahechi Route sub-region. At the Kamimisu Inari Shrine, surrounded by fox statues, you'll find this elusive creature at the cliff's edge. Approach and immortalize it through your Sumi-E.

Legendary Deer – Spring, Nighttime

In the Yamato region, make your way to the Yoshino sub-region during spring at night. Use the Mountain Blossom Temple as your fast-travel point and head east to reach the Sakura Meadows. Climb the slopes to a clearing where the legendary Deer awaits to be added to your Sumi-E collection.

Remember, even if you're in the correct location at the right time, the animals may not always spawn. If they don't appear, try fast-traveling to a nearby location and returning to see if your luck changes. With persistence, you'll soon complete your legendary Sumi-E collection.
