Sony's CES 2025 showcase surprised attendees with several video game adaptations, including a confirmed Helldivers 2 movie. This film is a joint venture between Sony Productions and Sony Pictures. While specifics remain scarce, PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash announced the project at the event, highlighting the game's popularity.

Helldivers 2, developed by Arrowhead, draws inspiration from Starship Troopers, depicting futuristic soldiers defending a Super Earth regime against alien threats while upholding "Managed Democracy." The movie's details are currently under wraps, but Arrowhead's CCO, Johan Pilestedt, confirmed some level of developer involvement to maintain faithfulness to the game's essence. However, he clarified Arrowhead lacks the filmmaking expertise to exert complete creative control, suggesting this is a wise approach.
