Fake Baldur’s Gate 3 Mobile Port Appears on App Store

A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a fabricated mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a hefty $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.

The imposter app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and attributed to developer "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios or the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. This omission should serve as a significant red flag.

Data Theft Concerns:

Beyond the financial scam, the app's terms of service reveal a potential threat to user data. The app may record IP addresses and other user information, highlighting the risks associated with downloading and using such applications. This isn't an isolated incident; similar Baldur's Gate 3 rip-offs have appeared previously.

While currently absent from the Android store, gamers on both platforms should exercise caution. If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is. Larian Studios has not announced any plans for a mobile port of Baldur's Gate 3. However, earlier Baldur's Gate installments are available on mobile, and Baldur's Gate 3 can be streamed via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Immediate Action:

Anyone who has downloaded the fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile app should immediately uninstall it to mitigate potential data breaches and financial loss. Always verify developer information and check for official announcements before downloading any game from app stores.
