Digimon Leak Hints at State of Play Surprise

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be revealed during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Gematsu discovered pre-order listings for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on the GameStop website, although details remain scarce.

The leak's timing, just hours before Sony's 40-minute State of Play presentation, strongly hints at an official announcement. While Sony hasn't revealed the presentation's contents, the Digimon Story: Time Stranger listing significantly increases the likelihood of a reveal.

The Digimon Story series, originating with the Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s, boasts a rich history across various platforms. Recent installments include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and their 2019 Complete Edition. These RPGs typically involve befriending and battling Digimon.

Following a 2022 tease from franchise producer Kazumashu Habu about a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a sequel. While titles like Digimon Survive offered a stopgap, Digimon Story: Time Stranger appears poised to finally deliver a true continuation of the series.
