Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Hints at Multi-Season Arc
Following the announcement of its premiere date, Netflix dropped the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game series.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the anime's future. He explained that the series, set in the late 90s and early 2000s, will leverage a soundtrack reflecting that era's spirit, incorporating tracks beyond Limp Bizkit and a synthwave remix of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove.
Shankar further hinted at a multi-season plan, stating that subsequent seasons will adopt distinct visual styles and soundtracks to highlight the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot details remain under wraps, the first season is anticipated to adapt elements from the Code 1: Dante manga (based on Devil May Cry 3), focusing on a young Dante's investigation into a child's disappearance. This investigation will reportedly force him to confront his past, family, and his demon father Sparda's legacy.
The eight-episode first season is slated to premiere on April 3, 2025.
