The Witcher 4 was unveiled at the Game Awards in December 2024, with a trailer spotlighting the game's new protagonist, Ciri. This shift from the series' traditional hero, Geralt, sparked widespread discussion within the gaming community.

In an interview with VGC, The Witcher 4 Narrative Director Phillipp Weber addressed the fan reaction to Ciri taking the lead role. Acknowledging fans' attachment to Geralt, Weber stated, "The best thing that we can do, and I think this is really our goal, is to prove that with Ciri, we can do a lot of interesting things so we can really make it worth it because this decision to have Ciri as a protagonist wasn’t made yesterday, we started making this a very long time ago."

The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though a specific release date has not been disclosed. Keep an eye on our updates for the latest news on The Witcher 4!
