In *Assassin's Creed Shadows*, not every choice carries significant weight, but the decision to confront either Wakasa or Otama during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission will have lasting effects on your campaign. Both characters seem suspicious, but there's a clear choice that simplifies the quest significantly.

After the tea ceremony in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the best choice is to confront Wakasa, who is indeed the Golden Teppo of the Onryo. Identifying her correctly allows you to resolve the situation in the easiest and most straightforward manner.

When you confront Wakasa, she'll invite Naoe to her home to discuss matters privately. Upon entering Wakasa's abode, you'll immediately notice a crucial clue confirming your choice: the kasa (straw hat) she wore during the prologue as the Onryo, hanging on her wall. Following some dialogue, the scene culminates in Naoe efficiently killing Wakasa by grabbing her Teppo from the wall and shooting her point-blank, thus swiftly concluding the mission.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

If you mistakenly choose to confront Otama as the Golden Teppo after the tea ceremony, you'll still end up killing Wakasa, but the path will be much more challenging. Confronting Otama leads Naoe to chase and kill her, only to find a letter revealing her corruption. However, this misstep allows Wakasa to escape and fortify herself in Osaka Castle with her soldiers.

To reach Wakasa, you'll need to journey to Osaka Castle, either fighting through her soldiers or attempting to sneak past them. If you've unlocked the Osaka Tenshu fast travel point, you'll have a slightly easier time reaching her, though you'll still encounter standard enemies along the way. Even if you manage a stealth assassination, Wakasa will still force a one-on-one confrontation. While the boss fight isn't overly difficult, choosing to confront Wakasa initially avoids the extra hassle and provides a more satisfying cinematic kill, especially considering her role in Naoe's father's death.

With the optimal choice during the Tea Ceremony mission now clear, consider learning how to gain XP and level up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* to prepare for the game's tougher challenges. Additionally, explore ways to earn more Knowledge Points, unlocking more skills for Naoe and Yasuke to enhance your gameplay experience.
