Capcom's latest Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase delivered a wealth of new information across their game lineup. Highlights include a new story trailer and Open Beta 2 details for Monster Hunter Wilds, expanded details on Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster announcement, and a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release
Targeting a 2026 launch, Onimusha: Way of the Sword promises compelling characters, a new protagonist, and engaging enemies. The game's setting, Edo-era Kyoto, will feature historically accurate locations. The developers aim for "ultimate sword fighting action" with satisfying combat. The protagonist, whose details remain scarce, will wield an Oni Gauntlet, fueled by the souls of defeated Genma. While challenging, the difficulty will be balanced for players of all skill levels.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025
The 2002 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, receives a remastered release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 – Arkveld Awaits
The second Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging quest. Also included are a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online features like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta can be transferred. Returning elements include the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt. Cross-play will be featured.

Character data transfers to the full game (February 28 release), but progress will not carry over. Participants receive a special Pendant.
