Astroweather は、主に NOAA/NCEP Global Forecast System (GFS) 数値気象モデルをソースとするウェブベースの気象予報を利用しています。

中国国立天文台の支援プロジェクトとして 2005 年 7 月に開始された 7Timer! 2008 年と 2011 年に大幅な改修が行われ、現在は中国科学院上海天文台の支援を受けています。この作品は、天体観測に影響を与える予測不可能な天候に対する著者の個人的な不満から生まれました。
