Dominoes, or dominos, is a classic board game enjoyed worldwide, played with rectangular tiles known as "dominoes." These gaming pieces form a domino set, often referred to as a deck or pack. The traditional Sino-European set contains 28 dominoes, also called bones, cards, tiles, tickets, stones, or spinners. Each domino features a line dividing its face into two square ends, marked with spots or left blank. Just like playing cards or dice, a domino set is versatile, enabling a variety of games. Extended sets, like double 9 and double 12, cater to games such as Mexican Train and Chicken Foot. Each country boasts its own favorite games: England enjoys Muggins (All Fives), Scandinavian countries play Bergen, Mexico loves Mexican Train, and Spain has Matador.
The origins of dominoes trace back to Song Dynasty China, with the game making its way to Italy in the 18th century. The exact evolution from Chinese to modern European dominoes remains a mystery.

General Rules of Dominoes:
Blocking Game:
The simplest dominoes variant involves two players and a double six set. After shuffling the 28 tiles face down into the stock or boneyard, each player draws seven tiles. The game starts with one player laying down their first tile, initiating the line of play. In different games, the starting tile varies; for instance, Muggins begins with the highest double (6-6), Bergen starts with 0-0, and Mexican Train uses the next lower double for each round. Players take turns extending the line with matching ends. The game concludes when a player plays their last tile or when the game is blocked, with the winner being the one who caused the block, scoring based on the remaining tiles in opponents' hands.
Scoring Game:
Scoring in dominoes involves accumulating points for specific configurations or moves. Most scoring games are variations of the draw game. In Muggins (All Fives), players score when the open ends sum to multiples of five. In Bergen, scoring occurs when the open ends match. Calling "domino" before playing a tile is crucial; failure to do so, followed by another player calling it, results in drawing an extra tile. Mexican Train awards 50 points for the double zero domino.
Draw Game:
In a draw game, players can draw from the stock before playing a tile, enhancing strategic depth. The game's score is calculated from the pips in the losing player's hand and the stock, typically leaving two tiles in the stock. This game is commonly known simply as "dominos."
