Cards Golf

A two-player card game.

This app features three card games: Four-Card Golf, Six-Card Golf, and Scat. Choose your preferred game in the Settings.

Four-Card Golf Rules

This is a two-player card game.

Similar to real golf, the objective is to finish with the lowest score.

A game consists of nine rounds. Each round begins with both players receiving four face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with the top card placed face-up to start the discard pile.

Before play starts, each player may look once—and only once—at the two cards closest to them in their square layout. These cards must remain hidden from the opponent. Players cannot look at their face-down cards again unless discarding them during play or revealing them for scoring at the round's end.

On your turn, draw a card from the draw pile. You may use this card to replace any one of your four face-down cards without looking at the card you're replacing. Try to remember which card you swapped. Place the replaced card face-up on the discard pile. Alternatively, you may draw from the discard pile and immediately discard that card again without using it.

If you draw from the discard pile, you must use that face-up card to replace one of your own cards before discarding it. You cannot simply return the drawn card to the discard pile.

You may also choose to knock, which ends your turn. Play continues normally for other players, who may draw or discard but cannot knock. The round ends after this sequence.

Scoring:

- Any pair of cards with the same value in the same row or column scores 0 points.

- Jokers are worth -2 points.

- Kings score 0 points.

- Queens and Jacks are worth 10 points each.

- All other cards are worth their face value (e.g., a 7 is worth 7 points).

- All four cards of the same rank are worth -6 points.

Six-Card Golf Rules

This is a two-player card game.

As in Four-Card Golf, the goal is to have the fewest points.

Each game consists of nine rounds. Players start each round with six face-down cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card placed face-up to begin the discard pile.

First, each player flips two of their own cards face-up. Then, players try to reduce the total value of their layout by either swapping cards for lower-value ones or by pairing cards of equal rank in the same column.

Players take turns drawing a single card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. The drawn card can be swapped with one of the player’s own cards or simply discarded. If swapped with a face-down card, the new card remains face-up. If the card is discarded, the turn passes to the next player. The round ends when all of a player’s cards are face-up.

Scoring:

- Any pair of cards of equal rank in the same column scores 0 points.

- Jokers are worth -2 points.

- Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points each.

- All other cards are worth their face value.

To swap one of your cards with the top discard, tap on your card. To play a card from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal it, then tap either the discard pile to discard it or one of your cards to swap.

You can play against an AI bot or a friend on the same device.
