The formation lap is ending. You gently press the throttle and swerve one last time from left to right, working to keep your tires hot. You know this is crucial for attacking the first corner at maximum speed. It might just give you the jump you need to pass the two cars ahead as they settle into their grid slots.

Now, ease off the gas and focus on the yellow line marking your position. With light pressure on the brake, you edge forward to the absolute limit allowed, aligning your front wing perfectly with the white start line.

You press the paddles on the back of the steering wheel to disengage the clutch and shift from second to first gear. Your car is now poised and ready.
