A Popular Persian Card Game Enjoyed Across the Middle East
Pasur, also called Chahar Barg (Persian: پاسور), is a classic fishing card game from Persia. Widely played in Iran, its mechanics resemble the Italian games Cassino and Scopa, and it shares even more similarities with the Egyptian game Bastra. The game is also referred to as Chahâr Barg (meaning "4 cards"), Haft Khâj ("seven clubs"), Haft Va Chahâr, or Yâzdah (since 7+4=11—a key scoring target where players aim to collect 7 clubs using 4-card hands to reach the winning total of 11 points).
