Conquering Happiness Hands in Persona 4 Golden: A Guide
Happiness Hands are formidable foes in Persona 4 Golden, randomly appearing in dungeons. They're notoriously tough, but defeating them yields substantial XP, making the challenge worthwhile. This guide focuses on overcoming Happiness Hands in Yukiko's Castle, early in the game.
Happiness Hand Weaknesses and Strategies
Happiness Hands boast strong elemental resistance, rendering most attacks ineffective. The key is to exploit their weakness: physical attacks. While Almighty attacks are typically effective against Golden Hands, they're unavailable early in the game. Happiness Hands inflict minimal damage, often idling, but they flee at the slightest opportunity. A weakness exploit or critical hit triggers their escape. Prioritize targeting one Happiness Hand at a time, especially in groups, as defeating multiple before they flee is unlikely.
Defeating Happiness Hands: A Step-by-Step Approach
The most effective strategy involves fusing Orobas, a Persona possessing the Hysterical Slap skill. This skill's double hit and chance to inflict Rage on the enemy are crucial. A Raged Happiness Hand continuously uses its basic attack, preventing escape. Orobas can be fused using:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Before engaging, ensure your party is fully healed. Focus solely on physical attacks that deplete HP. Utilize Yosuke's Sonic Punch, Chie's Skull Cracker, and the Protagonist's Hysterical Slap repeatedly. Early-game success relies heavily on luck due to limited options. However, defeating even a single Happiness Hand provides significant party level-ups.
Crucially, avoid All-Out Attacks unless a kill is guaranteed. Otherwise, the Happiness Hand will recover and flee.
