Sky: Children of the Light Marks 6th Year with New Awards

Sky: Children of the Light is celebrating its sixth anniversary, and thatgamecompany has a special treat in store. To mark the occasion, they're hosting a live awards ceremony directly within the game's universe. It promises to be a spectacular event!

Sky: Children of the Light 6th Anniversary Awards Schedule

The ceremony, titled The Sky Creator Awards, is scheduled for August 15th at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Players globally can tune in from the massive in-game cinema, a virtual venue capable of hosting thousands of attendees on a single server.

This groundbreaking event represents a first for the Sky community—an exclusive, one-night-only live ceremony dedicated to celebrating players and creators for their outstanding user-generated content.

The awards will be presented across ten distinct categories. The two headline categories are the Sky Community Award and the Content of the Year Award. Other recognized fields include Crafts, Livestream, Cosplay, Storytelling, Gameplay, Illustration, Music, and Sky Scapes.

Winners will have the opportunity to step onto a virtual stage and deliver an acceptance speech to the live audience in the cinema. Leading up to the main event, the cinema will host a 24/7 stream featuring behind-the-scenes content and messages from the development team.

The Festivities Begin Early

Starting July 7th, Aviary Village will be transformed into a vibrant social hub complete with swimming areas, dance floors, and parade grounds. This will officially launch the six-anniversary celebration for Sky: Children of the Light.

Numerous activities are planned before the August 15th awards. Expect a towering climbing challenge, various mini-games, and trivia contests. The cinema will also showcase a retrospective look at the events and seasons that have shaped Sky since its 2019 debut.

Furthermore, beginning July 21st, you can watch the first installment of a four-part animated series delving into Sky's lore, titled "Sky: The Two Embers – Part 1." Check out the awards ceremony trailer below.
