Get Your Pet
As soon as you jump into *Diablo 4* Season 7, head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to claim your pet. While pets don't participate in combat, they're invaluable for automatically collecting gold and materials. This feature saves you significant time, allowing you to focus solely on battling foes and gathering loot.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, visit the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can have two Mercenaries, making both leveling and combat more manageable. Building Rapport with them also unlocks additional rewards, enhancing your gameplay experience.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Start your journey on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline, marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to the unique mechanics of Season 7, including Headhunt zones and Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, as well as the new Witch powers. The questline is relatively short, interspersed with puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the most efficient way to reach level 60. Focus on defeating Headhunt zone bosses, collecting Favors, and enhancing your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
A handy quality-of-life feature in Season 7 is that you don't need to redo class-specific priority quests if you've already completed them on a previous character. Simply log in with that character on the Eternal realm first. For example, if you're planning to play a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a previously created Rogue who has completed these quests. Then, when you start with your new Season 7 Rogue, your class power will automatically unlock upon reaching the required level.
Headhunt Zones
While navigating Headhunt zones, make sure to engage with the Whispers. There are always four active zones, and you'll want to target the smaller, more compact ones for higher enemy density and faster mob farming. Prioritize these two Whisper quests: Fugitive and Shepherd. Fugitive involves recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots, while Shepherd is straightforward, requiring you to escort animals. Once you accumulate 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers or with the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone for a cache.
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, use the Altars of Witchcraft to purchase and upgrade your Witchcraft powers with Restless Rot, obtained by defeating the new Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrades can be costly. Focus on powers that offer direct damage boosts for maximum efficiency. Some Witch powers can only be unlocked at Forgotten Altars, which you can encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds starting at Torment 1 difficulty. Using a Draught of Whispers increases your chance of finding these altars.
Rootholds
Rootholds, a new dungeon type in Season 7, are accessible by consuming a Whispering Wood, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. Similar to a rogue-lite mode like Infernal Hordes, Rootholds allow you to activate negative modifiers that enhance the quality of loot. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with the modifiers influencing the number and quality of these roots. It's best to save your Roothold keys until you reach Torment 1, as they are the prime source of Ancestral loot this season.
Occult Gems
Late in your journey, visit Gelena at the Tree of Whispers to craft Occult Gems. These gems, which you can slot into your jewelry, outperform regular gems but are expensive to craft, requiring substantial amounts of Restless Rot and Heads. Heads drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones, with the Draught of Whispers increasing the drop rate from bosses.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Don't forget to incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons are your source for Glyphs, while Pits are crucial for leveling them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials needed to enhance your Uniques.
