WHAT IS STENCILETTO?

Stenciletto is a series of progressive mental workouts using basic geometric shapes. Its goal is to build and sharpen visual and spatial perception skills. Anyone can enjoy it—all you need is the ability to recognize simple shapes and understand how a stencil works.

Solving each puzzle calls on a broad set of critical thinking skills, including visual-spatial reasoning, logic, planning, and problem-solving—all at once. It looks simple but provides a genuine cognitive workout. Your task is just to tap geometric stencils in the right sequence to copy the target pattern. It's much tougher than it seems and will really get you thinking!

The game was developed over ten years by an experienced teacher with feedback from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning differences or brain injuries. Every group has found it engaging and motivating.

In this latest release, we've introduced Education Mode. This makes the game classroom-ready. A single purchase unlocks all relevant content. Controls are included for managing content access, internet use, Game Center, and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, making it perfect for homeschool settings as well.

HISTORY OF THE GAME

Originally called the Stencil Design IQ Test, the game was created by early 20th-century psychologist Dr. Grace Arthur, who understood that non-verbal skills are central to intelligence. She found it worked well for children as young as seven, as well as for her university colleagues. Tasked with assessing the IQ of Native American and deaf children who hadn't attended standard schools—and who scored poorly on verbal tests—she used this activity to show they possessed intelligence equal to that of educated Americans.

WHAT'S IN THE GAME?

You’ll find two types of games. Classic Games are built on Grace Arthur's original stencils (squares, circles, triangles, crosses, etc.) that most people recognize. Our new World Games offer advanced challenges for those with strong perception and logic skills seeking a tougher test.

Stenciletto features over 600 puzzles arranged by difficulty. Every level includes a free set to try (60 free puzzles in total).

Each paid game contains 15 puzzles. Finishing a Classic Game rewards you with an animated Smiley. These Smileys are based on famous historical and mythological figures, representing a diverse range of cultures. They're also a fun way to track your progress and achievements.

Different modes of play are available:-

• Mortal Mode is the default: buy lives or wait for them to regenerate. Includes timing, scoring, and Mortal leaderboards.

• Immortal Mode gives you free lives forever—just refill your life bank as needed. Timed and scored with Immortal leaderboards.

• Mindful Mode has no timer or scoring, letting you relax and take all the time you want to solve puzzles.

• Education Mode unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Modes, so you can choose either (Mortal Mode can be turned off).
